In a city with several distinctive properties, 1805 Ralston in Belmont stands out: many consider this colorful, dynamic yard and grounds to be the finest garden on the Peninsula.

The landscaping at 1805 Ralston was designed and installed by Dave Raphael, owner/operator of Cal-Native Landscaping. Cal-Native was selected to redesign and renovate the grounds of this house because the owners had long-admired Cal-Native’s work, and felt that Cal-Native would be the perfect company to re-imagine their landscaping.

Dave Raphael conceived of the design for the gardens, and personally oversaw the placement of plants, rocks, and other major features. Once the Cal-Native crew began working the job, they worked continuously until the job was complete. At the end of each day, the job site was cleaned and swept. Even though it was a work in progress, the walkways and grounds were kept clean and safe when the crew left each evening, which was a great relief to the owners.

The initial work was performed in 2003, and the garden has become even more beautiful as the plants and trees have matured. Colorful, natural, and inviting, the garden at 1805 Ralston makes visitors and passersby happy, and provides the home’s owners with great satisfaction.
